Mikko A. Uusitalo

Mikko A. Uusitalo is a Principal Scientist at the Nokia Research Center Finland in the area of Nano Systems. He obtained a M.Sc. (Eng) and Dr.Tech. from Helsinki University of Technology in 1993 and 1997 and a B.Sc. (Economics) from Helsinki School of Economics in 2003. His current main interest is computation and signal processing with nanotechnology.

Earlier positions of Mikko include Head of International Cooperation and Manager of Research Cooperation in Nokia Research Center, Technology Expert in Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovations, R&D Physicist in Picker Nordstar Inc. and Scientist at the Low Temperature Laboratory at the Helsinki University of Technology.
In 2001 Mikko was project manager of Wireless Strategic Initiative that gave birth to the WWRF, a new type of successful cooperation between and within industry and academia in the area of identifying research topics and cooperation in wireless communications. Mikko was elected as chair of WWRF for the years 2004-2006. Mikko is also a founding member of the CELTIC EUREKA initiative. Before coming back to science, Mikko had several leading or participating roles in international and Nokia internal communities, strategically guiding research cooperation. Mikko is a Senior Member of IEEE.
