Abstract:
Easy and cost-efficient integration of miniaturized components for optical readout still represents a major obstacle in developing compact and mobile systems for environmental monitoring or point of care diagnostics. BIOIDENT solves this problem by printing organic photonics directly onto lab on a chip platforms. The novel concept allows for the first time to integrate complete illumination and detection capabilities onto microfluidic-based devices. Absorption and chemiluminescence readout data show the high sensitivity and dynamic range of the integrated photonics.
