Abstract:
Abstract. 3S Corporation is an early stage company in the $13 billion wound care and tissue repair market that is projected to continue to grow at an average yearly rate of 7%. The company innovative technology is based on the discovery of biodegradable micro/nanofibered biomaterials prepared using electrospinning. The materials combine 3D collagen extracellular matrix like structure secreted by cells in the process of tissue repair/regeneration with ability to maintain moist wound environment. These features together with the ability of the material to suppress microbial contamination provide accelerated cell growth/ proliferation, tissue regeneration and wound healing. Preliminary clinical studies of the first generation of ResorporÔ demonstrated accelerated healing of long lasting and hard-to-heal wounds, including purulent wounds and trophic ulcers of long current. The material is working for accelerated healing of burns and acute wounds both traumatic and surgical origin, internal and external, including brain traumas and post-tumors surgery origin, including those in patients with compromised immune system. The matrices reduce scaring and keloid formation. .
