| Gregory Kaduchak, Ph.D, is a Project Leader for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Technologies within the Material Science and Technology Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His current interests include micro-scale particle trapping and transport in microfluidic channels and particle steering in bioaerosol collectors and biomedical detection devices. As a member of the National Flow Cytometry Resource, Dr. Kaduchak and his colleagues have pioneered a particle micro-manipulation based approach to replace sheath flow in flow cytometry platforms. His recent work on ultrasonic manipulation is highlighted 2005 McGraw Hill Yearbook of Science and Technology and Scientific American. Recent awards include the FBI Director’s award for his contributions in the field of ultrasonic biological/chemical detection and sample preconcentration, R&D100 award for stand-off detection, and the LANL Distinguished Performance Award. His hands on approach has led to the development of field deployable systems for biological/chemical agent detection for use by first responders.
