| John P. Riganati is Vice President, Strategy, at Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey. He joined Sarnoff in 1993 as Director, Communications Laboratory. In subsequent postions, Riganati served as Technical Director and CTO for the Communications and Networking Business Unit, Senior Technical Director and CTO for Technology Operations, and Vice President and CTO for the Office of Technology Strategy, Innovation and Acquisition. Sarnoff focuses on digital video systems and semiconductors and has supporting technologies that include materials and nano-materials, biotechnology and life sciences [subsuming medical MEMs devices, biosensors, and bioelectronics], communication systems and networking [subsuming processing and storage], and digital information systems [subsuming optical, video, databases, compression, coding, integrated circuits, and software products], One key current activity involves the creation of innovative solutions using nano-materials and design and development of end-to-end digital video systems from collection to delivery of real-time actionable information. Dr. Riganati is the author or co-author of over 75 reports, papers, or book chapters, holds eight extensively referenced patents, and is an inventor on a number of patents in process. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), ACM, IEEE, and the IEEE Computer Society. He received the BEE (with highest honors), MS in electrical engineering, and Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York
