Abstract:
An attractive approach to enjoy the accuracy of calibrated physical device models in the circuit design, without computational burdens is the reduced-order modeling (ROM). ROM aims at capturing the most important features of the detailed model internal states by a model having significantly smaller state-space. The main goal of this paper is to propose a set of practical techniques and tools for automated and efficient generation of circuit and device ROMs valid in the wide frequency range. The proposed techniques are based on the recently introduced method of frequency response coherent structures, a class of subspaces obtained in a systematic way by the frequency response analysis. This paper also aims at extending the concept of ROM to the area of active semiconductor circuits and devices as well as certain nonlinear problems.
