Abstract:
A new method for the electrodeposition of gold to glassy carbon using molecular monolayer template is proposed. Gold nanoparticled formed were used as electroctalyts for oxygen reduction. The catalytic properties of nanoparticles were different from that of the gold metal. The two or four electron reduction of oxygen can be controlled by applying asuitable potential using this method and the method is proposed for real applications.
