Abstract:
Health policies, including worker and public chemical protection policies, typicaly are established after products are in production and are ready to reach the market. This results in serious challenges to the R & D industry for all new products, especially those that rely on nano and micromaterials. Introduction of a precautionary approach during R & D will facilitate protection of technical R & D staff as well as promoting the efficient development of products that can be moved to market with substantially reduced concerns regarding hazards, corporate insurability, and improved options for a broad investor base.
