Self-cleaning coating with the function of anti-fogging and decomposing pollutants

Abstract:
The coating was in situ prepared by growth of the nanoparticles of composite TiO2 in an aqueous solution and could be used on the surface of materials, such as glass, mirror, plastic, metal plate, tile, automobile body, decorative resin sheet etc. The coated material surfaces under illumination show a new function of hydrophilicity, antibacterial, and decomposing pollutants, while keeping the origin characteristics of the surface. These new functions make the material coated have a new feature of antifogging, anti-soiling property and cleaning air of environments, therefore, adhesive dusts on the surface could be removed easily by water washing, the surface of the material can keep cleaning and beautiful in a long time, and excellent anti-fogging properties.
The thickness of the coating film is generally less than 50nm. The application of the coating is thus very economic and practical.
