Abstract:
iMAT brings under-served audiences to traditional media companies and in the process, creates new revenue opportunities in competitive, often flat media markets. These audiences are currently being under-served because of technological, language, or accessibility delivery barriers. Such opportunities have been invisible to traditional media due to its focus on mass audiences and sunk costs. iMAT has developed a business model that Identifies under-served and significant audiences, Aggregates media consumers and content, Overcomes technology & delivery barriers and Delivers adjusted media content to audiences. iMAT’s first play as a Media Valet is to bring talk radio to the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) population (11% of the U.S.) through a captioned radio service. iMAT will offer the service on a subscription basis and also open the medium to niche advertising. iMAT will create value for the radio stations by sharing the subscription and advertisement revenue streams, and increasing the broadcasters and advertisers reach to a new audience. iMAT will generate over $200M in revenues and $468M to radio partners over first 5 years. The company has raised $600k to date.
