Abstract: We invented an electrostatic filter (NanoCeram®) capable of retaining very small particles such as bacteria and virus. It outperforms membranes in filtration efficiency, flowrate (by tens to hundreds of times) and dirt holding capacity. It has far better filtration efficiency than fibrous filters, particularly for small particles. The filter won the 2005 Hall of Fame Award from the Space Foundation. This past year we discovered that we can also produce an air filter with better performance than a HEPA (high efficiency particle air) filter.
We have outsourced the manufacture of the filter. During the past two years we scaled the process up and now offer water purification cartridges for residential, commercial and industrial applications. We have initiated EPA certification testing for drinking water for removal of parasites and turbidity. We plan to sell our water cartridges through distributors and to OEM manufacturers of water purification devices. Filter media will be manufactured in Asia into disposable filters for personal water purifiers.
Financing has been mostly from the assets of the founder, complemented by government grants from NASA, EPA, DOE and DOD. We seek funding to increase manufacturing, sales and financial capabilities and to develop and launch our air filter.
