NanoBioMagnetics, Inc (NBMI)

Keywords: pharma, biotech
Abstract: NanoBioMagnetics, Inc. (NBMI) is a development stage nanobiomaterials company pioneering an emerging area of nanomedicine referred to as organ-assisting-device (OAD) technologies. The company’s core technology is based on an electromagnetic methodology for the site-specific placement of designed constructs of magnetically responsive nanoparticles (MNP) in driving a desired physiological event. Based on a proprietary nanofabrication platform, proprietary application platforms under development include: (1) Biostable Implant Devices, in which implanted MNP drive tissue movements in an oscillating magnetic field, and (2) Vectored Drug Delivery, in which MNP constructs, carrying a therapeutic load, are magnetically vectored to the site of therapeutic need. NBMI’s OAD technologies, site-specific and organ-specific in function, are viewed as enabling technologies that will enhance and expand the range of therapeutic options over a spectrum of human health disorders. Several OAD applications, in scientific firsts, have been experimentally validated and are being advanced through collaborations with major institutions that bring together multi-disciplinary, world-class science teams with the skills necessary for nanobioconvergence. NBMI is seeking investors and commercialization partners to support and advance the company’s OAD technologies and transition the company from a science organization to a functional business unit.
