Interaction between PEO-PPO-PEO Block Copolymer and Bovine Serum Albumin by FTIR Spectroscopy

Abstract:
Effect of PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymer Pluronic P103 on the secondary structure of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) has been investigated by FTIR spectroscopy. At short time of interaction, Pluronic P103 has no effect on the secondary structure of BSA. At long time of interaction and high concentration of Pluronic P103, Pluronic P103 changes some ?-helixes into ?-sheets. At long time of interaction and high concentration of nonionic surfactant Pluronic P103, the hydrophobic interaction plays an important role in the interaction between surfactants and BSA.
