Abstract:
Invited talk. In polymer systems non-equilibrium and metastable states often persist for long times and dominate both material properties and processing behaviour. The ability to predict such behaviour provides a wealth of new opportunities for control over properties and function at the molecular level. Real-time structural analysis at the nanometre scale is a key enabling technology.

One of the unique features of the VideoAFM is its high stability, coming from the high image-rate. The exciting possibility that this opens up of combining of combining in-situ scattering with nanometre resolution real-space imaging, to give full structural analysis in-situ, will also be discussed.
