A Nano-Scale Module with Full Spin-Wave Interconnectivity for Integrated Circuits

Abstract:
In this paper, we present a nanoscale computational architecture for integrated circuits where the nodes intercommunicate using Spin Waves. The key advantage of the proposed architecture is that the information transmission is accomplished without charge transfer. Information is encoded into the phase of spin waves. We describe several possible logic devices utilizing spin waves. Using phase logic, it is possible to realize a number of logic functions in one device. The architecture has efficient power consumption, and enhanced logic functionality. These advantages make such architectures with Spin Waves very promising for application in ultra-high-density integrated circuits, where the level integration is more than 10^10 devices per square inch.
