BioVigilant manufactures Instantaneous Microbial Detection instruments that detect, on a particle-by-particle basis, quantity, size, and if each particle is biologic or inert. These results are provided on a real-time and continuous basis.
Originally developed for homeland security applications and now being used within commercial markets such as pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing, Instantaneous Microbial Detection uses a patented optical method that does not use staining or reagent, requires virtually not set-up, and does not destroy the sample.
The air sampling instrument (the IMD-A) is available now, and the liquid sampling instrument (the IMD-L) will be available Q3 2006.
