Neil White is Professor of Intelligent Sensor Systems at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton. He is an active researcher in the area of sensors and instrumentation and specialises in thick-film devices, MEMS and intelligent instrumentation. He has published over 100 scientific papers and has been author/co-author or editor of 5 books. His professional qualifications include Chartered Engineer, Member of the IEE, Chartered Physicist, Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Senior Member of the IEEE. He was the Chairman of the Instrument Science and Technology (ISAT) Group of the Institute of Physics between 1997 and 1999.
