Abstract: In this report, we describe a simple, potentially universal method to significantly lower the turn-on voltage of PLED. Unlike a previous approach of doping PLED with organic salt, here, an inorganic salt, LiBr, was dissolved into organic solvent, THF, and added to electroluminescent polymer solutions. Single layer PLEDs were fabricated by spin-coating the doped solutions onto an indium tin oxide (ITO) anode followed by physical vapor deposition of an Al electrode. Two prominent electroluminescent polymers (MEH-PPV and PFO) have been tested to use this simple method, both cases show dramatically lowering turn-on voltages.
