Abstract:
In 2004 over 120 U.S. patents were issued with claims directed toward nanotubes. This paper examines nanotube related patents issued in 2004 to evaluate the state of United States Patent and Trademark (USPTO) patenting (e.g., quality of examination, timing of examination, prosecution and technical trends) and also provides a guide to the commercialization of nanotech/nanotubes based on who and how nanotubes are being patented.
