Abstract: In this work, a new method of synthesis of metallic nanoparticles of nickel is reported. It has been achieved in an organic solution in the presence of non-ionic surfactant with hydrogen as reductor agent, our interest in these materials is in its catalytic properties, mainly in reactions of interest in the petroleum industry; such as steam reforming(7) and syngas production(8, 9). This analysis by TEM showed a distribution of particle size between 1 and 4 nm, with an average value of 2, 1 nm. On the other hand, the analysis by electron diffraction revealed mixture of phases. ). The pattern shows intense ring that corresponds to nickel in metallic state with structure fcc and very weak ring corresponding to nickel oxidize. These results demonstrate that the nickel in metallic state was obtained. The presence of nickel oxidize is probably due to the fact that during the sample preparation, it is exposed to the atmosphere.
