The Italian Trade Commission (ITC) is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, business opportunities and industrial co-operation between Italian and foreign companies, mostly by organizing the participation of Italian firms in fairs, exhibitions, workshops and bilateral meetings in more than 100 countries all over the world. The ITC serves also as an information tool by which Italian and American companies can find useful links to selected organizations, research centers and companies, major events, links to ITC services, daily news, and submission of specific requests. Among the main industries followed by the ITC are biotechnology, electronics, environmental technologies, information technologies, security and safety equipment, telecommunications, and nanotechnology. In these sectors the Italian Trade Commission strives to create opportunities for enterprise cooperation, joint-ventures and shared R&D programs, to stimulate the transfer of technology innovation through cooperation among universities, research centers and enterprises.
