Nanotechnology is one of Bavaria’s key industries with applications in our state spanning the spectrum of Nanobiotech, Nanoelectronics and Nanomaterials. In 1998 the University of Munich established the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) to stimulate and support interdisciplinary research in all areas of nanoscience, combining physics, chemistry, biochemistry and life sciences. Bavarian State Minister Otto Wiesheu has expressed continued support of Nanotechnology in 2004 both as a science, as well as for its economic implementations.
