Biography:

Michael L. Roukes is Professor of Physics, Applied Physics, and Bioengineering at Caltech. His group's research activities are currently focused upon developing and using of nanodevices in the exploration of single-quantum and single-molecule phenomena. The systems they are building have a range of applications that span fundamental measurement, engineering, and biological and medical sciences.
