M.E. Müller Institute, University of Basel, CH
Biography: Andreas Engel is a professor at the M.E. Müller Institute for Structural Biology Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland. His research concerns the structure and function of membrane proteins of different origin. A major effort is invested in the study of aquaglyceroporins. Electron crystallography and atomic force microscopy are used analyze two-dimensional crystals assembled from membrane proteins and lipids.
