Structure and Dynamics in Substrate-Supported Bio-Inspired Assemblies

Abstract:
Recent work from our group will be presented that will address issues associated with the formation, structure and dynamics of substrate-supported assemblies. Much of our work has focused on substrate-supported phospholipid assemblies, and fluorescence imaging studies will be presented that address the formation, stability, and diffusional dynamics within such assemblies. Approaches to generating patterned functionality in thin-film assemblies will also be discussed, as will characterization tools useful for the study of phospholipid-based and other thin-film self-assembled systems.
