Patrick T. Spicer
Procter and Gamble Company
Technology Leader, Complex Fluids Research Group
Pat Spicer received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of
Cincinnati under the guidance of Prof. Sotiris Pratsinis in 1997. In the same
year he joined the Procter and Gamble Company’s Corporate Engineering group as
head of the Crystallization Core Technology.
He is now a Technology Leader in the Complex Fluids research group where he is
responsible for scale-up and scale-down of complex fluid processes when
colloidal and surfactant structure dynamics play a critical role in product
quality and stability. His research interests include population balance
modeling, crystallization, non-equilibrium interfacial dynamics, and complex
fluids engineering.
Pat is co-editor of the book Bicontinuous Liquid Crystals that will be published
by the CRC Press on May 6, 2005.
